Dear future, you suck and I want simplicity back. After years of being frustrated by my banks ever increasing fees, overdraft charges, customer service and cost for ATM withdrawls, I am going back to cash. You know, those paper thingers you can pad your wallet with and count with your fingerse. This week I had debit charges come in long after I had swiped my card (about 4 days) which resulted in me miscalculating my available funds and creating relentless overdrafts. Yep, I am the idiot that paid $40 for a cup of java.
So as I cut up my debit card and watched the pieces float into my garbage can, I was overcome by a mix of emotions. I felt closure, peace, freedom as well as fear and detachment. This month is going to be very, very interesting…
