How to Make $ 1,000 a Month Online (Part 2)

Welcome to the second edition of my series “How to Make $1,000 a Month Online”!

I was browsing through Commission Junction the other day and came across Screensavers.com. They offer .80 for every free screensaver a user downloads through your affiliate link. If you do a Google search for “Screensavers” you’ll see about 23,000 results and a slew of sponsored ads so it’s a somewhat a saturated market….but wait! What about more targeted niche searches? Heh, heh.

Let’s do a sample scenario for fun. I like fun, you like fun so…

Make $1,000 a Month Online in 5 Steps with Screensavers

1. Pull up a keyword analyzer such as “Good Keywords” and type in “Screensaver”.
2. Scroll down and check out the keywords that are getting about 1,000+ queries a month
3. Plug in a keyword on Google. I chose “Nascar Screensavers” and about 10,000 results turned up and only a handful of sponsored ads…not much competition there!
4. Create a free blog or site with the targeted keywords in the title and description like “Free Nascar Screensavers” and start grabbing the html code from CJ with your affiliate link and plug it in. Blend in some AdSense ads too.
5. Do some quick SEO work like getting a few high quality back links to your new site by posting in Nascar forums, link from your other blogs, create a Nascar Squidoo page, or write an article about Nascar and submit it to places like Article City which has a PR6 pagerank.

Let’s do some quick and dirty math after the search engines have indexed you and your SEO has worked it’s magic:

Say 25% of those 1,000 Nascar searches end up on your site. That’s 100 people x’s .80 = $80. Let’s also assume you make about $20 a month from your optimized adsense ads. That’s $100. Now go create 10 more pages for other targeted screensaver searches and there you have it…

an extra $1,000 a month!

Which makes me think that maybe we are all just over thinking and over analyzing too much! :P

Obviously something like this isn’t going to create a long-term, steady income but I don’t see why it wouldn’t bring in some extra cash!
