I have had this blog for about 6 months ago and in that time have spent countless hours researching, reading and testing out methods to make money online. In that time I have managed to make around $700 from simply hit and miss tactics….everything from AdSense to Affiliate Programs, Squidoo Pages, PayPerPost, Clickbank and even taking surveys. I feel like I’ve done it all! I now have honed in on exactly a way I feel I can succeed using my skills and experience to the best of my ability but find myself putting it off even though I know there is some real money that I could be making. Why? I’ll tell you why so you don’t do the same thing and to remind myself to get off my ass and stop putting off what I could be doing NOW! Here goes…
* Procrastination - Don’t get stuck saying to yourself “I’ll do it tomorrow” which is much easier than doing it today. Write down a to do list that works towards your goals and tick something off of it daily.
* Too Busy - If you think you’ve got too much going on to work on your project, then you better figure out a way to make time for it or just commit to quiting because not giving yourself 100% is just setting yourself up for disappointment.
* Lack of Skills - Not sure how HTML works or what SERP is? If you can tie your shoe and balance your checkbook then there is no reason you can’t hop on a search engine, find tutorials and teach yourself. Stop wasting time in forums asking other people how to do things you should already know or it’s going to keep presenting roadblocks!
* No Plan - I admit, I need to sit down and do this myself. Write down goals with specific milestones and objectives that are actually attainable (you aren’t going to make $100 on AdSense by next month) and involve short-term goals to reach long-term goals…a measurable means to the end so to speak. What’s that they say? If you fail to plan you plain to fail. For example, if your goal 6 months from now is to make $100 a day with AdSense then your short-term goals might involve researching niches, keywords, building a site, creating content, etc. I highly recommend the “Affiliate Income Calculator” as an affordable motivational and organizational tool for goals.
* No Focus and Lack of Commitment - If you are easily distracted, then shut down your email, turn off your phone and set aside a block of time consistently to work on your project. You were pretty committed on finding time to watch your favorite tv show this week…do the same for your project.
Good luck and happy money making trails!!!
