Living frugally means more cash in your pocket. The little extra things you take for granted really add up and if you evaluate where your money is going you’d be surprised how much extra cash you can free up! If you think about what you could do with the extra cash every month, you can really improve your financial situation if you stick to a plan of saving or investing it. These may seem like obvious money saving actions…but have you actually put them in action?

• Eat out less
• Avoid vending machines
• Bring your own lunch to work
• Walk or bike when possible
• Turn off lights when not in the room
• Turn down heat and air at night
• Hang dry your clothing
• Cancel your cable and get an antennae
• Round up your checkbook to the next dollar amount
• Rent movies from the library
• Buy generic brands
• Use coupons and rebates
• Call your credit card companies and ask for a lower interest rate
• Don’t buy lottery tickets
• Cut back or stop smoking
• Downgrade your cellphone plan
• Change your own oil
• Dye your own hair
• Get a free checking out or one with less fees
• Check out thrift stores before heading to department stores
