Affiliate Marketing on Squidoo

I know I said I was taking a break but I actually needed a break from packing so here I am! I have recently been seeing more and more ebook sales from clickbank products I promote on Squidoo, a free social network. I am starting to see that Squidoo could easily become a very steady stream of income for any affiliate marketer by tapping into targeted niches.

Tiffany Dow wrote a very nice article on affiliate marketing on Squidoo over at Affiliate KB which has some great information for newbies about how to get started. Basic things like tagging and naming your lenses are covered. At one point she states that “it’s a simple, 4-step process that takes less than 5 minutes total” that I don’t totally agree with. Just like a website, I firmly believe that the more informational content and purposeful aesthetics (ie arrows, varying font colors and sizes) the more successful you will be at drawing in that customer. Crappy lenses with two sentences and a big fat link to the product your selling turns off visitors because they know that they are being pushed to purchase something where as if you have relevant copy, interactive elements like a poll and a little blurb about yourself. By gaining the trust of visitors and letting them feel valued will increase your chances ten fold of them purchasing the product that you are recommending ;)

And remember….when creating Squidoo lense URLs…RESEARCH THOSE KEYWORDS!

“Squidoo Queen” gives you more in depth information about getting your lense on Google’s front page for your keyword and some other sneaky (but very legal) little tricks on dominating traffic, google and your sales ;)

    Hi Sarah,

Congratulations on your success with Squidoo!

I just thought I’d point out that the 4-step process that takes less than 5 minutes that Tiffany is referring to is the 4-step wizard when registering your lens. Not the actual process of building your lens once it has been registered.

    It’s all about quality :)

    Nice blog you have here.

    Hi Sarah,

I am really interested in earning money through clickbank and squidoo as they are really great sites to work for. Please provide me some details as to how I can pay off my debt, as I have personal loans, home loan, and credit card debts on my shoulder which I have to pay. By the way, I live in India and I have created some lenses on squidoo but no commissions as of yet.

    My lenses are:

    http://www.squidoo.com/google_money

    http://www.squidoo.com/video_effect

I have created several blogs on blogspot and other sites which rotate and display adsense ads on their sites. I have earned only mere 159 dollars in the last six months.

If you would be able to help me with earning money with clickbank and ebay, I would really appreciate it.

I know everything in the world cost something and is not free so that’s why I would like to tell you that if I am successful, I will also sell some of your affiliate products on my lenses, and let the commission to be earned by you and for you.

    Thanks,

    soni2006
