Debt Progress: June Update

I got 3 words for you…moving is expensive. Wait, three more…car repairs suck. All of my extra cash which I would have LOVED to put towards my debt was eaten up by repairs on my ‘98 Taurus and moving expenses for my big out-of-state move in a couple weeks (one way moving truck rentals aren’t cheap).

I will be getting checks this week from Fusion Cash ($75) and Cash Crate ($115.83) that I can use to pay down my Crapitol One card though.

One area of progress though was facing an old collection account from Best Buy that sneaked up on me this month. They finally threatened me with a lawsuit so I paid them 25% of my debt and they dropped it as long as I make steady payments. As much as that whole ordeal sucked of dealing with their lawyers I was happy to just finally deal with this old debt that had been like a monkey on my back since college!

Unfortunately taking the plunge into freelancing full-time will hinder my ability to pay down debt quickly beyond minimum payments until my income stabilizes. On the bright side, I won’t be accumulating any MORE debt, the rent at my new place is $350 cheaper and I HAVE managed to pay off about $1500 of debt and my car since I started this blog in March ;)

Congrats on your progress! You should check out the smaller guys when it comes down to the GPT websites, they usually tend to pay a lot more per offers.

    Keep up the great work!
