I’m taking down my AdSense ads. Why? Because nobody ever clicks the friggin’ ads!!!! Even after optimizing, nada. I think my balance is hovering around $100 after a few months. I suck. I think it really has more to do with my audience I suppose. Most of my readers are clever little devils like myself and won’t go near an AdSense ad unless it REALLY catches their attention. Anyone with a “making money online” blog wanna throw in their 2 cents? I’m thinking I’ll keep Clickbank products around and maybe integrate Adbrite as an experiment.

How is your search engine traffic?
Honestly, John Chow is the only MMO/SEO/IM blogger that I’ve ever heard of making any decent money from AdSense
i get clicks on other sites that i have, just not this blog. there is certainly money out there to be made with adsense…it’s just not happening here
ever try textlinkads?
i get around 50 hits from search engines each day…
I never got any clicks on my marketing blog’s Adsense either. They were discreet and in the footer so they were pretty useless, but I don’t think it’s worth it putting them on the sidebar or anything.
I wouldn’t bother with Adbrite either…
The problem with a lot of bloggers is that they are so use to seeing the ads that they don’t pay any attention to them. I did an experiment on Adbrite and Adsense to see which one paid more. The verdict that I had was that adsense made more money but adbrite would allow you to add other monetizations to your blog and would also allow you to use traffic exchanges, adsense will not allow you to do this. I still use both of these services to monotize on different blogs that I own.
Hi I was just passing by and I think your blog is fab with so much information. I see you decided to leave your adsense ads up. I am also trying to make money from adsense but haven’t had much luck yet. Please visit my making money online blog Mailboxmoney Leave a comment with your blog link for more exposure if you want. I have other blogs as well, just check my profile. I joined your community at mybloglog and faved at technorati. Just a tip - adsense doesnt let you have any paid to programs with their ads, I think they may see cashcrate, and treasure trooper links and not like them.
well, as you can see i kept them up. the reason why is because i have been making more varied posts about debt and finances including making money online which is attracting more traffic that isn’t so blind to adsense ads like those of us who see it and know what it is and i’ve been getting more clicks. the most successful adsense place for me here now is the top link menu
